BeatMind Bridge Connected but Ableton Not Responding
Check the browser account, BeatMind Bridge, AbletonOSC and Live Set inspection separately when BeatMind cannot communicate with Ableton Live.
A connected BeatMind Bridge does not by itself prove that Ableton is ready for music commands. The Bridge can be signed in to BeatMind while the local AbletonOSC integration is unavailable, a permission is missing, or the current Live Set cannot be inspected.
Check each connection in order. Start with inspection, not another command to create tracks: a previous interrupted command may already have changed the set.
Check the account and local app
Use the same BeatMind account in the browser and the Bridge. Keep the Bridge open on the Mac that is running Ableton, and use the current installer from BeatMind Downloads. The supported Bridge release requires Apple Silicon and macOS 15 or later.
Open Ableton and the Live Set you want to work on. Save important work before restarting Live or changing the integration. Installing the Bridge on a different computer does not connect the browser to the Ableton session on this one.
Check AbletonOSC in Live
Use the Bridge's integration setup for BeatMind's supplied files. If the installer asks for the User Library, choose the library configured in Live rather than an unrelated project folder.
Ableton supports third-party scripts inside a Remote Scripts folder in the User Library. After installing, restart Live and select the script in the Control Surface list. This is the location Ableton documents for third-party integrations. Ableton installation guidance
For AbletonOSC, open Settings or Preferences > Link/Tempo/MIDI and select AbletonOSC as a Control Surface. The upstream project also specifies restarting Live after installation. Merely seeing the folder in Finder does not mean the script has loaded. AbletonOSC setup
If the entry is missing, recheck which User Library Live uses and whether integration setup reported success. Do not delete your library or copy scripts into several guessed locations. Contact BeatMind support with the setup message if the entry still does not appear.
Separate control permissions from audio permissions
Follow the permission request shown by the Bridge for the operation you are performing. Controlling an application's windows and capturing application audio are different capabilities; success at one does not prove the other works.
In macOS System Settings, use Privacy & Security to review the specific permission requested. Some permission changes require reopening the affected app. Do not disable system security or share your password with support to fix an integration problem.
Verify the current set before creating anything
Ask BeatMind:
Inspect the current Live Set and report its tempo and track names. Do not change the music.
Compare the answer with Live. If the set cannot be inspected, resolve that message first. If a previous action was interrupted, inspect what exists before asking to repeat it.
Once inspection succeeds, request one small part and review its audition. If Live plays but the browser preview is silent, check the recording status, selected audio output, track level and the requested audio permission separately. A connection indicator is not an audio test.
FAQ
Why can the Bridge be connected while Ableton is unavailable?
The Bridge's connection to BeatMind and its connection to Ableton are separate. Signed-in status confirms the first, while a successful Live Set inspection checks the second.
Should I repeat a failed track-creation command immediately?
No. Inspect Live and the action history first. An interrupted request can leave completed or partially applied actions, so repeating the entire request can create duplicates.
Do I need Terminal for normal setup?
Normal onboarding uses the Bridge installer, its integration setup and Ableton's settings. Send the exact error to BeatMind support when these steps fail rather than attempting unverified terminal commands.
Can I begin with a reference instead of creating a kick?
Yes. Open References to review a track you are permitted to use. See reference tracks versus stem remixes to choose between planning original parts and rearranging source stems.
