1. Who we are
BeatMind (beatmind.io) and MixMind are made by Zietra Technologies Inc. ("we", "us"). Our postal address is 12 Teaberry, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688, USA. For anything about your data, email support@beatmind.io.
2. What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and a hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself).
- Billing: payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID, your plan, and your purchase and subscription history.
- Usage: what you type to BeatMind and your chat history; logs of AI usage (which feature was used and how many tokens); your track and separation usage; and records of the sign-in tokens for the BeatMind Bridge and MixMind apps, including when each was last used.
- Source-use confirmations: when you confirm rights to import reference stems, we keep your account and reference identifiers, source name, selected stems, intended use and confirmation time with that reference. These records document your instruction, not legal clearance, and are removed when you delete the reference.
- IP addresses: we use your IP address for security and rate limiting, and it appears in our server logs.
- Voice input and read aloud: the microphone button uses your browser's own speech service to turn what you say into text (Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari, under their privacy terms). BeatMind receives only the text you choose to send. Listen reads replies with your computer's voice and sends nothing to us.
- On your Mac: the BeatMind Bridge keeps its sign-in token in your macOS Keychain and talks to Ableton Live on your computer. MixMind keeps your library, imported folders, analysis and sets in a database on your Mac; we don't receive your music files or your library database.
- Audio: reference tracks you upload are stored on our servers at Amazon Web Services until you delete them or your account is deleted. Audio sent for Cloud HQ separation passes through Amazon S3 and is deleted from there after separation (within one day at most). Captured auditions are recordings of Ableton Live's audio only, made by the Bridge when you ask for an audition (macOS asks you to allow audio recording first); they are stored on our servers. When the Bridge separates a track on your Mac, the audio stays on your Mac and only a report (such as the stem list and timing) is sent to us.
3. How AI processing works
- BeatMind chat: your messages and the relevant state of your Live Set are sent to Anthropic Claude models through Amazon Bedrock to plan and carry out Ableton actions.
- Listen to reference (optional): only when you choose it, short audio excerpts of your reference (or its stems) and your listening brief are sent to OpenAI for analysis. We send them with OpenAI's storage option turned off.
- MixMind AI features: your prompts and the relevant library metadata (such as track titles, BPM, key and genre) are sent through our server to Anthropic models on Amazon Bedrock.
Under their API terms, these providers do not use this data to train their models.
MixMind itself runs on your computer and reads your Rekordbox library, or the music folders you import, there. Our servers only check your sign-in, relay MixMind's AI requests and offer app updates. The first time MixMind runs a deep analysis, it downloads a stem-separation model from Meta's public model server, which sees your IP address.
4. How we use your information
- To run BeatMind and MixMind, including your plan, allowances and packs
- To take payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse
- To send email: password resets, support replies and product update emails
- To fix bugs and improve the service
- To meet legal obligations
5. Email
We send email from support@beatmind.io through Google Workspace (Gmail). Product update emails are sent to account holders and include a one-click unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time.
6. Who we share data with
We share data only with the providers we need to run the service:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, storage and Amazon Bedrock (Anthropic Claude models).
- OpenAI: only for the optional listen-to-reference step, when you choose it.
- Stripe: payments and billing.
- Google: email (Google Workspace), the web fonts on our site, and YouTube when you play a video on our site.
- Meta: MixMind downloads its stem-separation model from Meta's public model server; only your IP address is shared.
We don't sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
7. Browser storage and cookies
We keep your sign-in token and some app state (such as your saved chats) in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when those fonts load. Videos load from youtube-nocookie.com only when you press play.
8. How long we keep data
We keep your account data, chats, references and recordings until you delete them or your account is deleted. Billing and tax records are kept for as long as the law requires.
9. Deleting your data and your rights
You can delete reference tracks yourself in the app. To delete chats, recordings or your whole account, or to access, correct or export your data, email support@beatmind.io from the address on your account and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data; contact us and we'll help.
10. Security
We use TLS for connections, bcrypt for password hashing, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
11. International users
Our servers are in the United States, and your data is processed there.
12. Children
BeatMind and MixMind are not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we'll update the date above. For material changes, we'll also tell you by email or in the app.
